Hey Gang!
Update: First I want to thank everyone for all the love and support you have offered over the last year. Yes, it’s only been a year although it does feel like it’s been a hell of a lot longer.
Update 1: I no longer need Chemo/Radiation treatments. From all appearances, the tumor is gone so, there is that however, as with any trauma to a sensitive organ, that is still some residual infection to work on and I still need to start some kind of immune therapy. We started one type of therapy and quickly realized my body didn’t like it and my lungs started filling with fluids. After more than a week in the hospital with all kinds of lung treatments, and now new medication, I moved passed that now.
Update 2: I still have to be careful with swallowing as my esophagus now has a cute little bend to it and food tends to get stuck there if I’m not careful. (if someone says “McRib” I will trangle them). Small bites, dime-size or smaller, chew a lot, like, till it’s just about gone, swallow with plenty of water.
Most importantly, I need to slow down and take my time. I got used to speed eating….probably from my time in the Army. you just had so much time to eat so, you learned to shovel or starve. But I lost about 30# total so, I have to gain some back as well as some muscle.
so, I am doing better, I’m back to eating at least somewhat normal. Thank you again for all the love and support I have gotten. It really does help.
